HeatherKroe
Choreographer/ Founding Artistic Director
Heather Kroe (she/her) is a New York City based choreographer, dancer, and teacher originally from Detroit, Michigan. Kroe studied under Valentina Barsukova at Valentina’s School of Ballet in Clawson, Michigan and went on to obtain her BFA in Dance and BA in psychology as well as a minor art therapy from Marymount Manhattan College. During her time at Marymount, Kroe performed works by David Parsons, Martha Graham, Christian Von Howard among others. Additionally, she was a part of Marymount’s select performance company where she had the pleasure of performing pieces by Twyla Tharp, Jenn Freeman, Darshan Singh-Bhueller, Katie Langan, Jenn Archibald and more.
SophiaAste
Sophia (she/her) is a New York-based performance artist who moved from Salt Lake City, Utah in 2019 to pursue a degree in dance at Marymount Manhattan College. She graduated with an additional minor in Arts Management and true to her interdisciplinary nature, her current creative practices span writing, podcasting, solo-traveling, and yoga. Growing from her love of proscenium performance, Sophia is inspired by how dance and movement have and always will exist beyond the stage—particularly within today’s contemporary media landscapes—ensuring their relevance in an ever-evolving digital world. Sophia continues to prioritize developing a personal movement lexicon informed by musicality and lyricism.
AllisonFeller
Allison Feller (she/her) graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2023 with a B.F.A. In Dance and a B.A. in Psychology. At Marymount, she performed works of various choreographers including Rodney Hamilton, Sidra Bell, Sekou McMiller, Netta Yerushalmy, Nancy Lushington, and Anthony Morigerato. Currently, Allison is pursuing her Master of Social Work degree and is working as a freelance dance artist. She has been working with KROEMovement since its establishment in 2024, and has performed in Weekday Disco at DanceSpace and Centenary University with the collective.
KayPrescott
Kay Prescott (she/her) was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She started dancing at the age of 4 with Barbara Hammond School of Dance. Kay received her BA in Dance and Media from Marymount Manhattan College in 2024. During her time there, she performed works by Earl Mosley, Thryn Saxon, Catherine Cabeen, Jess DiMauro, and Megan Williams to name a few. She was also a selected choreographer for the Dancers at Work series where she got to present her own work. Since graduating, Kay has had the pleasure of working with Pertazzer Co. as a company member. She performed with KROEMovement in their first season during 2024 and is looking forward to be back for season 2!
HaileyCooke
Hailey Cooke (she/her) began her dance training in Greenville, SC, studying at Dancers Corner and the Fine Arts Center. In 2018, she joined DanceMakers Inc.'s The Collective, traveling the country and assisting and training under dance industry professionals. She moved to NYC to earn her BFA in Dance (Jazz concentration) and complete pre-Physical Therapy studies from Marymount Manhattan College, graduating in 2023. Today, Hailey is a certified yoga instructor who teaches in the city and continues auditioning and performing professionally while expanding her artistic versatility.
MonetJones
Monet Jones (she/her) is a professional dancer raised in Union, New Jersey. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in May 2023 with a BFA in Dance (Modern) and a minor in Business Management. Performing throughout her career has helped her uncover new aspects of herself, both spiritually and mentally. As she is adamant about showcasing the delicate and authentic elements of dance artistry to social perspectives, her passion and contribution to the creative industry continues to expand. Jones is actively expanding her artistry through continued involvement in the fashion industry and modeling as well as developing her individual artistic voice through written word and poetry.
LianaWilson-Graff
Liana Wilson-Graff (she/her) is a movement artist, writer, and non-profit administrator based in New York City. A graduate of Haverford College (’23), Liana majored in Dance, with minors in Africana Studies and English Literature (B.A.). As a dance major at Bryn Mawr College, she performed in contemporary, hip hop, and West African works by Melanie Cotton, Paul Taylor, Brittany Whitmoyer Fishel, Peaches Jones, and Urban Bush Women. Since graduation she has participated in Dance Hub: Italy and performed in a work by multidisciplinary performance artist Jude Markey Smith. With a focus on the intersections of modern dance, social dance, and Africana studies, Liana brings a unique perspective to her work. She also writes reviews of dance performances around the city for Splash Magazine!
